Lightweight Portable Oxygen There are a variety of portable oxygen systems available. This includes the standard 'E' size tank mounted on a two wheel cart.
Lightweight systems that are carried on the shoulder or around the waist are also available.
Not all patients can tolerate the shoulder or waist carried systems because these systems are typically "conserving" devices that do not provide a continuous flow of oxygen. For this reason, it is necessary for a respiratory therapist to evaluate the patient to determine if they are receiving an adequate flow of oxygen when using a conserving device.
There are also systems that allow patient's to refill tanks in their own home. This eliminates the patient coming in to pick up refilled tanks or having to work out a delivery schedule to the home and results in greater freedom for the patient.
Ask our staff about what options would best suit your situation. Fill your own tanks in your own home - the ultimate in convenience. Introducing Invacare's HomeFill system.
